FDPR COMPLETES VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION STUDY FOR THE TERRY FARREL FUND

FDPR is proud to announce the completion of a FOUR YEAR comprehensive analysis of the recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters provided for the TERRY FARREL FUND  in Nassau County NY. The study was funded through the FEMA SAFER Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Program.

This $450,000 four year, no-match granted was hosted by the Fund. The main project accomplished by FDPR was the completion of the annual STAFFING NEEDS ANALYSIS. The analysis researched current trends in volunteer recruitment throughout the state and nation during the period of performance of the grant program. Our unique approach to staffing needs analysis compare response levels by year, month, day, time of day, season and weather in attempt to establish trends and identify patterns including gaps in response . These gaps then target potential volunteers and encourage response through incentives to bridge these gaps.

The program identified gaps and analyzed a path forward not only here on Long Island, but throughout the numerous chapters of the Fund throughout the nation.
